1. Definition.

Preposition is a function word that typically combines with a noun phrase to form a phrase which usually expresses a modification or predication.

Preposisi adalah kata fungsi yang biasanya digabungkan dengan frasa kata benda untuk membentuk frasa yang biasanya menyatakan modifikasi atau predikasi.

2. To refer : 

A. Time : at, in, on

     Example : At weekends, I love to go skiing.

B. Direction : above, between, along:

     Example : The milk is above the soda in the refrigerator.

C. Day          : using "on" with days, using "in" with month and year

    Example : I have English classes on Mondays and Wednesdays.

D. Place        : in, on, at

     Example : Please put the book on the shelf.

E. Object      : bed, opening, making

     Example : The cat under the bed is sleeping quietly.

F. Location : at, in, on

    Example : My house was on Delaney Street.
